One of the most relevant elements of Galileo's legacy is the approach of breaking with theories established from his new observations (relief of the Moon, sunspots, Jupiter satellites)
This attitude towards knowledge from reality, experimental validation and the argued defence of ideas is an essential legacy at a time when we see pseudoscientific integrations and theories resurface.
